Helping Angelenos After the 2025 Fires. Preparing to Guide Communities Everywhere.
In the midst of the 2025 LA Wildfires, Amplifi helped Angelenos navigate fire recovery resources across LA County. This rapidly deployable tool is being enhanced to address any natural disaster nationally — quickly, efficiently, and effectively.

How It Works
The LA Disaster Relief Navigator begins by asking clarifying questions about the person’s situation. This input is quickly turned into a personalized Disaster Recovery Action Plan. The Action Plan includes prioritized resources in plain language (with translations to Spanish and many other languages) providing useful tips to apply for specific services.

Disaster Navigator 2.0
The LA Disaster Navigator was hailed by state and local leaders, the Red Cross, and disaster experts as a breakthrough. They asked:
Could this tool be ready to launch within 24–48 hours
of any disaster, anywhere, to guide survivors
through the first 30-45 days of a crisis?
Based on this feedback and funding from Fire Aid, we engaged human-centered design firm, Civic Makers, to conduct research and stakeholder analysis of the Disaster Navigator and the needs of disaster survivors (of any type) and those trying to help them. We are now determining the technical requirements and resources needed to create Disaster Navigator 2.0.

Our Origin Story

In the wake of the 2025 LA Wildfires, Amplifi—at the request of local philanthropy, the Mayor of Los Angeles, and the State of California—partnered with Better Angels and together worked 24/7 to rapidly build the LA Disaster Relief Navigator.
Modeled on our Benefit Navigator, this web-based tool delivered trusted, easy-to-use information to fire victims and their helpers. Through a simple interface, it helped users:
Create personalized action plans
Identify local, state, and federal resources they qualified for
Access continually updated services as new aid became available
In just weeks, nearly 7,000 Angelenos turned to the Disaster Navigator, finding clarity and support during a time of overwhelming crisis.
